No. Autism Support Pathways provides consultation, parent coaching, education, and individualized guidance. Services are designed to help families better understand their child’s needs and identify practical strategies and next steps. Direct speech-language therapy and medical treatment are not provided through consultation services.
Speech therapy typically involves a licensed speech-language pathologist providing direct assessment and treatment to address a child’s specific communication needs.Parent coaching takes a different approach. Rather than providing direct therapy to your child, I work with you to better understand your child’s communication, behavior, and everyday challenges. Together, we identify practical strategies you can use during real-life routines such as playtime, meals, getting ready, transitions, outings, and bedtime.
No. Autism Support Pathways does not provide diagnostic evaluations or diagnose autism or other medical or developmental conditions. I can, however, help families understand recommendations they have received and think through possible next steps.
Absolutely. Communication and AAC are areas I’m especially passionate about and have supported throughout my career as a speech-language pathologist. I work with families of children who are not yet speaking, use limited spoken language, communicate in different ways, or already use - or may benefit from - AAC.Together, we can look at how your child currently communicates and identify practical ways to build more opportunities for connection and communication throughout everyday routines. This may include AAC modeling, core vocabulary, gestures, visual supports, communication boards, and strategies for helping your child express wants, needs, ideas, and feelings.AAC is not about replacing speech, it’s about giving your child more ways to communicate.
Yes. Navigating school services and the IEP process can feel overwhelming, and I can help you better understand your child’s IEP and feel more prepared for school conversations and meetings.Together, we can review your child’s goals, accommodations, communication supports, and areas of concern; identify questions you may want to ask the school team; and discuss ways to support consistency between home and school. I can also help you think through concerns related to communication, AAC, classroom supports, routines, behavior, and participation. My role is to help you feel informed, prepared, and confident as a member of your child’s educational team. I provide educational consultation and parent coaching, not legal advice or legal advocacy.
That’s completely okay - you don’t need to know where to start. That’s exactly what the complimentary Discovery Call is for. We’ll talk briefly about your child, your family’s concerns, and the kind of support you’re looking for. I can answer your questions and help you determine which option may best fit your needs. There’s no obligation, just an opportunity to connect, ask questions, and decide what feels right for your family.
I believe families should have access to helpful information and support, regardless of budget. If individual coaching isn’t an option right now, the Parent Pathways Membership offers ongoing support at a lower monthly cost. You can also find free resources, practical strategies, and printables on my educational website, Universal Speech Strategies.
